JOB DESCRIPTION

GetUp DC, the fastest growing morning show in Washington, D.C is looking for a traffic reporter to join our team. The ideal candidate will thrive in a breaking news and ad-libbing environment, have a flare for graphics and a strong knowledge base of our metro roadways. This person will be part of a cutting-edge ensemble cast that is smart, funny and uniquely DC.  So, strong communication, collaboration, self-motivation and innovation are attributes that will help you stand out.  Social media domination and an overall compelling web presence are musts.
The ideal candidate has an undergraduate degree or equivalent related experience and knowledge of Maryland, Washington, DC and Virginia; with at least three years of experience reporting.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Gather and present information regarding traffic news on air and online
Perform live reports and interviews on transportation stories
Collaborate with producers, assignment and digital editors, and co-anchors
Communicate with the traffic information providers and emergency personnel
Develop contacts and turn transportation-related stories weekly
Perform other duties as assigned
