Technology Specialist at KBMT/KJAC-TV

Technology Specialist

KBMT/KJAC-TV Beaumont, TX Full-Time

This position is instrumental in the day to day operation of KBMT-TV. The Technology Specialist will be responsible for tracking and maintaining all syndicated programing across all 6 channels broadcast out of our facility, in addition to other key tasks.

Responsibilities:

 

• Keep track of satellite feeds and schedule recordings for programming

• Download and clip programs into our playout servers

• Follow commercial format sheets to segments recorded programs, as well as programs manually dropped off at station from local clients

• Quality Control checks to ensure Closed Captioning is present and accurate on all captured programs

• Download and tag ABC/NBC baseline promos and syndication episodic promos, and maintain an up-to-date list making sure content is ready for air as needed.

• Map playlists and solve problems with missing spots

• Assist the sales and traffic departments with commercial spots when the need arises

• Create cart numbers for spots in Wide Orbit

• Maintain the daily promo log for NBC in Wide Orbit

• Other production related tasks as assigned

Requirements:

 

Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines

Must be punctual and reliable

1-3 years previous employment as a broadcast technician/master control operator

Work Environment: Office

Physical Demands: Sedentary work

Travel: Rarely: less than 10%

Work Environment Set: Office: normally performed in a typical interior/office environment

Physical Demands Set: Sedentary work: Involves sitting most of the time; walking, lifting, bending, standing, etc.
