TEGNA is seeking a Senior Manager, Business Development for our fast-paced, growing portfolio of Multicast Networks and Entertainment Programming. The Senior Manager for Business Development will report to the Vice President, Entertainment Programming and Multicast Networks.


  • Negotiate third-party distribution agreements for our owned-and-operated group of multicast networks, including True Crime Network, Quest and Twist
  • Manage and negotiate inbound multicast distribution agreements for third-party multicast networks to be carried on TEGNA stations, focusing on revenue optimization
  • Manage a detailed database of all distribution contracts; work with TEGNA stakeholders such as finance and engineering to successfully launch and track all network carriage
  • Provide ongoing business analysis of all deal performance including ROI and revenue optimization
  • Serve as a key business strategist for new business ventures in our multicast entertainment group, including streaming (OTT) services and other ventures as they arise


  • 5+ years experience in a business development, sales or affiliate relations role for a major media property
  • A track record of managing a portfolio of significant revenue-generating contracts and partnerships
  • Strong deal-making, networking and relationship-building skills
  • Strong negotiation skills and a drive for finding new revenue
  • Strong understanding of the evolving media landscape, including OTA, OTT, MVPD and broadcast distribution
  • Highly analytical with exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • A can-do, enthusiastic spirit who embraces new challenges and thinks outside the box
  • Candidates with experience in the multicast industry strongly preferred
  • Candidates may be located in the Washington, DC area or Atlanta, GA
