Programming Manager
WXIA-TV, the NBC affiliate in Atlanta has an opening for a Programming Manager to join our team. This position will be responsible for daily scheduling and execution of the station's programming.
- Evaluate syndicated programming for clearance, including OTO specials
- Work with corporate programming director when station is included on group programming offers
- Upon program clearances, generate TEGNA required paperwork, review and prepare contracts for signature
- Maintain SIMS database with all program contractual requirements and schedule programs and episodes, including movie scheduling on WATL
- Generate weekly program schedules for both stations for distribution to listings services as well as common in-house drives
- Maintain Excel program grids for WXIA program schedules, including monitoring all NBC changes and updating schedules with changes as quickly as possible
- Communicate program changes and updates to local staff, as well as to traffic hub to initiate log changes
- Schedule and monitor E/I programming, ensuring that programs follow FCC guidelines for scheduling and makegoods
- Complete and upload FCC Quarterly Issue Reports and FCC Children's Programming Reports
- In tandem with Sales, create opportunities for paid program time periods on both stations
- Generate contingencies for all live programming events
- Proficient in Excel and SIMS
- Detail oriented and ability to work effectively between multiple departments
- Collaborative attitude
- Position is a member of the Senior Leadership Team which embraces a 'no fiefdom' attitude
