Producer
WTHR is the #1 TV & Digital station in Indianapolis, IN and we are looking for our next great newscast Producer! In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day gathering, production and presentation of content, as well as overall newsroom leadership. We are a producer-driven shop and we're looking for highly creative people who thrive on breaking news, showcasing and storytelling. We are looking for excellent writers, strong graphic visionaries, and candidates who know how to tie digital to broadcast and vice versa. If you're just looking to stack shows this isn't the place for you. We need people who want to create something new every day.
Responsibilities:
- Write and produce 30-60 minutes of news content per shift.
- Communicate with anchors and managers in the newsroom, as well as crews in the field, to produce the best newscast.
- Maintain the editorial integrity of all of your shows and content while supporting station wide content initiatives that may include special programming, digital content and training.
Requirements:
- An ethical journalistic compass should go without saying.
- 1-3 Years of Previous Producing Experience preferred.
- Ability to handle the pressure of multiple deadlines every day.
- Strong communication skills and a sense of innovation that drives your producing.
- Familiarity with ENPS and Edius editing software is a plus.
