Job Summary: TEGNA is looking for a creative and curious Insights Strategist to join our client solutions and B2B marketing team. Our Insights Strategist will provide data storytelling support to the company’s sales organization, including our multi-market sales team and teams at each of our 63 media brands in 51 markets across the country. This role will help us identify consumer & industry trends and translate those insights into strategic recommendations. A passion for understanding consumer behavior and uncovering trends in data is a must.
Responsibilities:
• Stay current on trends related to consumer behaviors, demographics, media consumption, and key business categories.
• Assist with creating compelling data stories using research from of internal and external sources.
• Collaborate with TEGNA sales and client solutions strategists to integrate insights into marketing strategy through campaign ideas, market opportunities, and client requests.
• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of insights-based sales collateral.
• Participate as needed in station, client or internal TEGNA meetings and presentations.
• Other duties and responsibilities as may be required to ensure the success of TEGNA.
Requirements:
• 2+ years of experience in marketing strategy, research, or data analytics.
• Analytical & critical thinker who loves to problem solve.
• Able to digest complex information and distill into clear insights.
• Excellent communication, planning, and time management skills.
• Exposure to and familiarity with syndicated research tools such as MRI-Simmons, Nielsen Scarborough, or similar.
• Basic knowledge of data visualization best practices and tools like Microsoft Excel and Tableau.
• Must be a self-starter who is results-driven and takes ownership of assigned tasks within team projects.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Previous experience working with TV and/or Digital Media sales is a plus.
