Brand Development Manager - Reports to Director of Sales (Looking for Achiever, Work Ethic, Discipline, Relationship, Activator, Accelerator, Learner, Problem Solver)

Purpose - to function as a leader in creating and implementing multi-platform, on-air marketing and new media campaigns to grow the station’s incremental revenue in line with the KVUE brand. This Brand Development Manager will create and implement successful strategies by capitalizing on the station’s strengths, creating sales opportunities, and building lucrative local partnerships, as well as lead efforts to create and maintain dynamic, attractive sales content and sponsorships on KVUE, Spotlight ATX, and all interactive properties that are a part of KVUE.com. This position will serve as a brand manager for all sales products and opportunities including broadcast, station website, mobile and any additional platform used for sales purposes. This position focuses on the success of the station, sales team, and top-line revenue results.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop, create and execute annual tent-pole marketing opportunities and train/coach AE’s in ways to position each initiative. Assign projected revenue potential to each opportunity and track AE activity for each. Assist with both pre and post-sale deliverables and KPIs.
  • Partners with Sales Management and Account Executives to develop, create, execute and manage custom insights-driven marketing solutions. This includes collaboration with the TEGNA Marketing Solutions team
  • Plans and runs the bi-weekly cross departmental integrated marketing meeting
  • Evaluates and scores all current and future community partnerships
  • Owns the relationship between Sales and Spotlight ATX.  Works with Operations Supervisor to develop and fine-tune processes and workflow. Collaborates with Marketing, Sales and Content to develop, create and execute innovative concepts designed to drive revenue.
  • Collaborate with Marketing colleagues at other TEGNA properties to identify new ideas and opportunities to create revenue.
  • Utilize current client and community contacts to leverage sales partnership opportunities designed to drive core revenue.
  • Excellent communicator who can manage expectations and consistently meet deadlines.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years of account engagement in a professional, fast paced digital sales environment
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects effectively under deadline pressure
  • Ability to effectively solve problems
  • Creative and able to adapt quickly to change
  • Position requires strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong organization and time management
  • Familiar with SEO, SEM, Social Media, targeted display, mobile and video marketing strategies
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experience with DoubleClick for Publishers (DFP), Ad tagging and 3rd Party Data Sources (Experian, BlueKai) a plus
  • Proven track record of exceeding expectations
  • Solid Project Management skills
  • Professional business attire
